Bhopal. He has also completed special training program on ‘TRAINING PROGRAM ON LAW TEACHING AND LEGAL RESEARCH SKILLS” from Cardiff Law School, Cardiff, Wales (UK). He has attended various national and international seminars and conferences, presented research papers along with published articles. He had orgainised various legal literacy camps, awareness programs and proceedings of Lok Adalat for the students of law in previous institutions. He is coordinating training program of law teaching to the newly recruited Dy.S.Ps of Chhattisgarh state. He had organized and participated in two law teachers training program (Cascade Programs) at Government Law College Mumbai and HNLU Raipur as co-coordinator. He has given valuable contribution in 1st and 2nd Justice Hidayatullah National Moot Court Competition he is now in charge for conducting 3rd. Dr. Dipak Das Associate Professor(Law) Dr. Dipak Das has passed LL.B. and LL.M. from The University of Burdwan, West Bengal. He Completed Ph.D. in Law from same University on “CHILD LABOUR’ in 2005. Dr. Das also passed post graduate diploma in Perronnel Management (PGDPM) from “Management Studies Promotion Institute” New Delhi. He cleared NET for lectureship conducted by UGC in 1998. As a member of good number of legal forum, Dr. Das has undertaken many Ph.D. projects for supervision in the field of Woman Protection, Cyberlaw, Business Law, Constitutional Law etc at Burdwan University. He served there as Lecturer and Reader since 2000 and now he is serving as associate professor at HNLU, Raipur. He has attended many national and international seminars, conferences, workshops etc and got many articles and papers published in Journals of repute. Very soon he is to publish a book on child labour from Deep & Deep Publications, New Delhi.Dr. Avinash Samal Assistant Professor (Pol. Science) A Post-graduate in Political Science and a Ph. D. in Development Studies, Dr. Avinash has about 13 years of experience in teaching, research and evaluation. Specialized in governance, public policy, decentralization and tribal development, his research interests centre on CSR and social development issues such as livelihoods, education, health, water, environment and gender. Awarded JRF (UGC) in June 1992, he pursued his doctoral research on “Dynamics of Tribal Development Administration” at the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore, with a Fellowship from ICSSR, New Delhi. A member of the International Association for the Study of Commons (IASC), Indiana University, USA, Dr. Avinash has to his credit 3 books and 20 articles published in various journals and edited volumes and a number of papers presented in national and international seminars and conferences. Dr. Avinash has worked with multi-disciplinary research institutions, universities, policy think-tanks and corporate foundations. Prior to joining the HNLU, he was with the ICFAI School of Public Policy, Hyderabad, as a Faculty and Coordinator of the MPP Program followed by a stint as a Program Head for Policy Research and Evaluation at one of the Corporate Foundations. He also worked with the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, and earlier with CESS (Hyderabad), FAIR (Bangalore), and ISEC (Bangalore). Dr. Kaumudhi Challa Assistant Professor (Law) Dr. Kaumudhi Challa [M.Sc. (Biochemistry), LL.M. (Human Rights), NET, and Ph.D. (Law)] joined HNLU as Assistant Professor in January 2010. She did her Post Graduation in Biochemistry from Department of Biochemistry, Nagpur University, Nagpur; LL.B. from RTM Nagpur University’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, Main Branch Nagpur, and LL.M. in Constitutional Law and Human Rights from Post Graduate Teaching Department of Law, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. She has been awarded Ph.D. in Law on the topic, “Development of a Comprehensive Scheme for Natural Resources Accounting in India with Special Reference to Indian Environmental Legislations,” Natural Resources Accounting is a trans-disciplinary approach for the protection and conservation of natural resources and for achieving sustainable development. This research on NRA involving enviro-legal aspects has been done for the first time in India. She was visiting faculty at PGTD Law, Nagpur from the year 2003-2006 and Lecturer at Govindrao Wanjari College of Law, Nagpur, from 2007 -2009. She has taught various subjects like Environmental Laws, Jurisprudence, and Research Methodology to LL.M. students and Law of Torts, IPC etc. to LL.B. students. She was also faculty for Academy of Human Rights, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur and has taught Human Rights to PGDHRDE & MDHRDE students. She has also guided about 250 Socio-Legal Research and Dissertations of LL.M. students on numerous topics as well as Project Works of Human Rights students.She has to her credit articles published in Journal of Human Rights, Jaripatka, Nagpur & Trans-disciplinary Journal IPRA, on various topics relating to environment, human rights, child rights, health of women etc. She has presented papers in National conferences and seminars on topics like Bio-terrorism, Bio-piracy and IPRs, Impact of GATS on Indian Legal Services, Child Rights, Ethical and Legal Issues in Organ Transplantation, Higher Education in India, etc. She was Resource Person for Orientation Course for University & College Teachers organised by UGC- Academic Staff College, RTM Nagpur University for topic Sustainable Development. Mr. S.R. Subramanian Lecturer(Law) Subramanian is an outstanding alumnus of the Faculty of Law, University of Vienna. He has previously worked for the Tamil Nadu Home Department, West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata and an inter-governmental organization based in Vienna. Dr. Sujit Kumar Choudhary Lecturer (Sociology) ![]() Dr. Sujit Kumar Choudhary is a Lecturer in Sociology at the School of Juridical and Social Sciences (SJSS). Before joining the HNLU, he worked as a Research Consultant/Fellow in many international and national organisations on diverse issues, like Educational Problems of Scheduled Castes/Tribes and the Induction of Women in Central Police Forces. He obtained his MA, M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees respectively in Sociology from the Centre for the Study of Social Systems/School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. The prestigious Dr. Ambedkar Chair Fellowship was conferred on him for his outstanding doctoral research. His research topic for M.Phil was “Higher Education and Social Status: A Sociological Analysis in India”. He successfully completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) on the topic entitled “Role of Non-governmental Organizations in Education and Formation of Social Capital among Tribals: A Comparative Study of Two Villages in Jharkhand”. Dr. Choudhary has published many research papers in international and national referred journals, including a research paper in the Journal of Educational Enquiry (published from the University of South Australia). He has three books to his credit, including an internationally recognized book entitled “Thinkers and Theories in Sociology: From Comte to Giddens (2006)”. Another - forthcoming book by him is “Civil Society, Education and Social Capital: A Micro Study of Tribals”. In addition, he has published many papers in edited volumes on various subjects and issues. Dr. Choudhary has won many awards, prizes and certificates in academics, social work and sports. Mr. Azimkhan B. Pathan Assistant Lecturer (Law) He is Assistant Lecturer & Research Associate (Law). He has obtained his LL.B. Degree from Amravati University and had secured top rank bagging four Gold Medals. He has post graduated from RTM Nagpur University and also secured top rank in LL.M. examination bagging again four Gold Medals. He is recipient of Ex-Prime Minister Late Shri. P.V. Narsimha Rao Memorial Gold Medal. He was a visiting faculty in Department of Law in Nagpur University. He has guided LL.M. students in their dissertation work (Research Projects). Presently he is pursuing Ph.D. Programme on the topic of “Emerging Concept of Global Warming at International Level and Effect of Climate Change on Environment: A Critical Study with Specific Reference to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), 1992” under the guidance of Dr. Thrity D. Mr. Harishankar K.S. Mr. Uttam Kumar Panda Assistant Lecturer (Sociology) Mr. Uttam Kumar Panda joined as Asst. Lecturer in Sociology in July 2010. He is graduated from Fakir Mohan University, Orissa with Top merit in Sociology (Honours). He completed his M.A. in Sociology from the most renowned Govt. College (Estd. in 1868) in Orissa namely Ravenshaw Autonomous College, Cuttack (Now Ravenshaw University). He has finished his M.Phil Degree in Social Sciences from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar National Institute of Social Sciences (BANISS), MHOW (funded by ICSSR, New Delhi and Govt. of M.P.) and submitted his Ph.D Thesis on the topic “Sociological Study of Gender Roles, Status and Power: A Comparative Study of Orissa and Delhi” to Devi Ahilya University, Indore (M.P.). During his M. Phil he was bestowed the prestigious Dr. Ambedkar Chair Fellowship and he was given Institutional Doctoral Fellowship from BANISS for his Ph. D research. She has been the Moot Court president and was also adjudged the best student advocate in 2004-05 .Presently she is teaching Family Law at HNLU Ms. Padma Aparajita Parija Assistant Lecturer Ms. Padma Aparajita Parija joined as Asst. Lecturer in Law (Corporate Law) in July 2010. She has completed here LL.M. degree from this reputed institution – Hidayatullah National Law University – in this session of 2008-2010. She has Completed her 5 year Integrated law degree course from Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack under UTKAL University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. She was also awarded the Merit Certificate and also Praful Kumar Dhal Smriti Sansad Award 2008, for securing Highest Marks in 5 years law course 2003-2008 sessions. She was also awarded this Late Justice Joy Krushna Mishra Memorial Gold Medal for this year 2008 for standing first class in all semesters. Ms. Sheela Rai has done her LL.B. from D.D.U Gorakhpur University and LL.M. from National Law School of India University(NLSIU), Bangalore. She has submitted her Ph.D. in NLSIU, Bangalore. She has worked First as Research Assistant and later as lecturer in West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences and as Researcher in Consumer Unity and Trust Society (CUTS, Jaipur). She has around 25 articles published in national, international journals and as chapters to edited volumes. She has also published a book ‘Recognition and Regulation of Antidumping Measures under GATT/WTO’. Another book ‘Recognition and Regulation of Safeguard Measures under GATT/WTO’ is forthcoming.
Associate Professor obtained his Bachelors in Science and Law, LL.M. from the University Teaching Department, and Doctorate from B.U. Bhopal. He has also completed special training program on ‘TRAINING PROGRAM ON LAW TEACHING AND LEGAL RESEARCH SKILLS” from Cardiff Law School, Cardiff, Wales (UK). He has attended various national and international seminars and conferences, presented research papers along with published articles. He had orgainised various legal literacy camps, awareness programs and proceedings of Lok Adalat for the students of law in previous institutions. He is coordinating training program of law teaching to the newly recruited Dy.S.Ps of Chhattisgarh state. He had organized and participated in two law teachers training program (Cascade Programs) at Government Law College Mumbai and HNLU Raipur as co-coordinator. He has given valuable contribution in 1st and 2nd Justice Hidayatullah National Moot Court Competition he is now in charge for conducting 3rd. Recently he has coordinated two days National Seminar on “Consumerism: Challenges and Possibilities” in association with Indian institute of Public Administration New Delhi. He is also contributing in designing course curriculum to introduce new teaching methods and courses as per recent developments. In addition to his academic contribution to the institute he is also holding many responsible posts by contributing and sharing many other administrative responsibilities of the university as Controller of Examination, Appellate Authority under RTI Act 2005. He is also in charge of publication as Co-editor of University Journal “ Law and Social Policy” form the very bingeing third volume of the same is in press for publication.
Dr. Dipak Das has passed LL.B. and LL.M. from The University of Burdwan, West Bengal. He Completed Ph.D. in Law from same University on “CHILD LABOUR’ in 2005. Dr. Das also passed post graduate diploma in Perronnel Management (PGDPM) from “Management Studies Promotion Institute” New Delhi. He cleared NET for lectureship conducted by UGC in 1998. As a member of good number of legal forum, Dr. Das has undertaken many Ph.D. projects for supervision in the field of Woman Protection, Cyberlaw, Business Law, Constitutional Law etc at Burdwan University. He served there as Lecturer and Reader since 2000 and now he is serving as associate professor at HNLU, Raipur. He has attended many national and international seminars, conferences, workshops etc and got many articles and papers published in Journals of repute. Very soon he is to publish a book on child labour from Deep & Deep Publications, New Delhi.
Dr. Kaumudhi Challa [M.Sc. (Biochemistry), LL.M. (Human Rights), NET, and Ph.D. (Law)] joined HNLU as Assistant Professor in January 2010. She did her Post Graduation in Biochemistry from Department of Biochemistry, Nagpur University, Nagpur; LL.B. from RTM Nagpur University’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law, Main Branch Nagpur, and LL.M. in Constitutional Law and Human Rights from Post Graduate Teaching Department of Law, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur. She has been awarded Ph.D. in Law on the topic, “Development of a Comprehensive Scheme for Natural Resources Accounting in India with Special Reference to Indian Environmental Legislations,” Natural Resources Accounting is a trans-disciplinary approach for the protection and conservation of natural resources and for achieving sustainable development. This research on NRA involving enviro-legal aspects has been done for the first time in India. She was visiting faculty at PGTD Law, Nagpur from the year 2003-2006 and Lecturer at Govindrao Wanjari College of Law, Nagpur, from 2007 -2009. She has taught various subjects like Environmental Laws, Jurisprudence, and Research Methodology to LL.M. students and Law of Torts, IPC etc. to LL.B. students. She was also faculty for Academy of Human Rights, RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur and has taught Human Rights to PGDHRDE & MDHRDE students. She has also guided about 250 Socio-Legal Research and Dissertations of LL.M. students on numerous topics as well as Project Works of Human Rights students.She has to her credit articles published in Journal of Human Rights, Jaripatka, Nagpur & Trans-disciplinary Journal IPRA, on various topics relating to environment, human rights, child rights, health of women etc. She has presented papers in National conferences and seminars on topics like Bio-terrorism, Bio-piracy and IPRs, Impact of GATS on Indian Legal Services, Child Rights, Ethical and Legal Issues in Organ Transplantation, Higher Education in India, etc. She was Resource Person for Orientation Course for University & College Teachers organised by UGC- Academic Staff College, RTM Nagpur University for topic Sustainable Development. As member of Human Rights Cell & Institute of Human Rights, Nagpur, she has taken part in various extension activities like awareness campaign against plastic bags, workshop for human rights awareness, protection of girl child, etc. Presently she is teaching Administrative Law and Federalism papers at HNLU, Raipur. 

He completed his M.A. (Public Administration) M.Com. (Banking) M.L. (Business Laws) PhD. In Law from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Worked in Nyaya Vidya Parishad Law College, Visakhapatan as a Lecturer in law for 12 years on regular basis. He taught Business Law for C.A., C.S., ICWAI and MBA students for the last 10 years. He Published several papers and attended ten national and international seminar held at New Delhi. He participated in International Conference & Golden Jubilee Celebrations at ILI, New Delhi in 2006 and submitted a paper. He attended and participated several workshops, Faculty Development programs, Refresher Courses and Orientation Course.
Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava has done his LL. B. and LL. M. from D. D. U. Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur and D. Phil. (Law) from Allahabad Central University, Allahabad. Prior to joining HNLU, he worked as a Lecturer with the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He also worked as a Legal Officer with the Sahara India Commercial Corporation (Housing Division), Lucknow, prior to taking up his doctoral research in Law. He has participated and presented research papers in various National Seminars on socio-legal issues. He specializes in Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. At HNLU he teaches Constitutional Governance and Legal Method.
He has done his BA. LLB (Hons.) Degree from School of Indian Legal Thought, Mahatma Gandhi University and his LLM from School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology. His specializations are Consumer Law and Human Rights Law and secured first position in his LLM Degree. He was the winner of Dr. A T Marcose Memorial Gold Medal for the topper in LLM in the year 2008. He has delivered lectures on Right to Information Act in the seminar organized by Bharat Nirman in association with Central Information Ministry in the year 2007. He has been attended various state and national seminars and presented various papers in such seminars. “Ninth schedule -An Overview” and “Status of Women in Islam” are latest among them. He has also done a project work titled as “Access to Higher Education” in 2006 and a research work titled as “Derogation of Human Rights during Public Emergency” (Dissertation) in the year 2008.
He is Assistant Lecturer & Research Associate (Law). He has obtained his LL.B. Degree from Amravati University and had secured top rank bagging four Gold Medals. He has post graduated from RTM Nagpur University and also secured top rank in LL.M. examination bagging again four Gold Medals. He is recipient of Ex-Prime Minister Late Shri. P.V. Narsimha Rao Memorial Gold Medal. He was a visiting faculty in Department of Law in Nagpur University. He has guided LL.M. students in their dissertation work (Research Projects). Presently he is pursuing Ph.D. Programme on the topic of “Emerging Concept of Global Warming at International Level and Effect of Climate Change on Environment: A Critical Study with Specific Reference to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), 1992” under the guidance of Dr. Thrity D. Patel, Former Dean & HOD, Faculty of Law, RTMNUN. He has participated and submitted his research papers in various National and International Conferences. His Research Paper selected for the presentation in the International Congress on Environmental Research organized by Mauritius University, Mauritius which is being held in September 2010. He has presented Research Paper in the Conference on “Emerging Issues of Law and Justice in the Coming Decade” organized by Campus Law Center, Faculty of Law, Delhi University, 27th March 2010. He has participated and submitted his paper on emerging issue of climate change in International Conference organized by Indian Society of International Law held at Delhi under the caption of ‘International Law in the Contemporary World’ on 1-4 Feb. 2009. He has also participated in UGC Golden Jubilee National Seminar on Human Rights & Duties Education, Yavatmal, (Maharashtra). His LL.M. dissertation work (Research Project) was also kept in the exhibition of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University’s Research Festival “Avishakaar 2008”. He was a Resource Person in workshop organized by Regional Training Institute, Indian Audit & Accounts Deptt., Nagpur on the topic of ‘Gender Equality and Social Justice’. His Research Article has been published in ‘Theme Journal of Climate Change’ published by Raisoni Law Shool, Nagpur, India, 2010. His Article has been published in the Journal of Institute of Human Right on the topic of “Legalization of Same Sex Marriages and Homosexuality in India: A Human Right Approach”, 2009. Other Articles have also been published on the various issues such as “Protection of Biodiversity Rights: National and International Experience”, “Whether Human Right to Clean and Pollution Free Environment Exist?”, “I. R. Cohelo vs. State of Tamilnadu: An Analysis of the Case Relating to 9th Schedule under Indian Constitution”, “Legal Dimensions of Information Technology in the Millennium”, “Domestic Waste: Hazard to the Life and its Effect on Human Beings”. He is teaching subjects like International Environmental Law, Legal Method, Constitutional Law, Judicial Review, Cyber Law etc.
Harisankar, Assistant Lecturer of Law, Obtained his Bachelor degree in Science from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala (2002); Bachelor degree in Law from Govt. Law College, Kochi and a Master’s degree from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi in 2009. He was awarded full scholarship by The Hague Academy of International Law, and he participated in the summer programmes in 2008 held at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands. He represented South Asia in an international conference hosted by the Friedrich Neuman Stiftung (FNSt) in Germany (2009). He is a member of the Centre for Public Policy Research, a public policy think-tank based in Kochi. His area of specialization includes International Trade Law and Maritime Law.


Ms. Shilpa Jain Assistant Lecturer Law has completed her B.A.LL.B(Hons) and LL.M degree from the Department of Legal Studies and Research Barkatullah University Bhopal .She secured first position in order of merit in B.A.LL.B(Hons)degree and is a gold medalist .Presently she is pursuing her Ph.D programme on the topic of DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN INDIA : AN ANALYTICAL STUDY(With Special Reference to Working of Women Commission) under the guidance of Prof. Nisha Dube Honourable Vice Chancelor Barkatullah University Bhopal.Prior to joining HNLU she was working as a Law Head in Pathfinder Education Services Bhopal and was a renowned CLAT trainer .She was also the guest faculty for Department of Legal Studies and Research Barkatullah University and Career Institute Of International Management Bhopal.She has participated and presented papers in various international and national conferences and seminars. She has been the Moot Court president and was also adjudged the best student advocate in 2004-05 .Presently she is teaching Family Law at HNLU
Ms. Padma Aparajita Parija joined as Asst. Lecturer in Law (Corporate Law) in July 2010. She has completed here LL.M. degree from this reputed institution – Hidayatullah National Law University – in this session of 2008-2010. She has Completed her 5 year Integrated law degree course from Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack under UTKAL University, Bhubaneswar, Orissa. She was also awarded the Merit Certificate and also Praful Kumar Dhal Smriti Sansad Award 2008, for securing Highest Marks in 5 years law course 2003-2008 sessions. She was also awarded this Late Justice Joy Krushna Mishra Memorial Gold Medal for this year 2008 for standing first class in all semesters. She has represented her college in Various State Level Moot Court during her 5 years courses and has received Chief Minister's award for that in year 2006.She has number of articles published to her credit and also published a book.Presently her areas of interest are – Corporate Law, Contract Law and Banking Law.
